I've definitely seen many designers steal different ideas and looks for their inventions. I think it's okay to steal designs but there's a certain line that can't be crossed, like obviously they can't copy something exactly. Sometimes copying things get a little old or annoying, they can seem unoriginal. An example of this is when Instagram incorporated the 'story' feature. Just like Snapchat, you're able to post stories just for 24 hours that can be seen by specific people only or are free to be seen by anyone. I think the majority of the people saw it as just copying Snapchat since it has been really successful for the past year or so.
