I think the tech industry is very exclusive. It's really hard to see women in more STEM oriented jobs, like computer science. I think It's a big cultural problem where if a woman is seen to take interest in more "hard" or "dirty" subjects then they're immediately shut down. The United States, along with many other countries in the world, don't encourage women to participate in these fields of studies. The people in this video explained what they heard were stereotypes for computer scientists: "lazy, unhygienic, in front of computers all day with a energy drink in hand" and I can strongly disagree with these stereotypes. One of the professors talked about how "In the west we cut the number of engineers in half by not encouraging women to participate" and I think that's a scary thing considering the number of jobs available for this field is tripling.
